Trafford Golf Centre ups its game with £90,000 investment

One of the UK’s leading golf venues, Trafford Golf Centre has revolutionised its driving range by installing the most advanced ball tracking technology, Toptracer to 16 bays.

Offering the same ball-tracking technology that traces the shots of the game’s best players on TV, Toptracer provides instant shot replays and statistical feedback on interactive game screens in the bays, which allows players to make swing adjustments and immediately see the impact on their golf shot. The fun, tech-driven experience appeals to seasoned players, range rivals, friends, family members, and even first-time golfers.

Now the UK’s busiest driving range, hitting almost 14 million balls in 2018, Trafford Golf Centre has also introduced convenient waiter service, serving food and beverages, out on the range for customers to enjoy.

Pete Styles, director of golf, at Trafford Golf Centre and Dino Falls, said: “The ball-tracking technology is a complete game changer as customers can now use the Toptracer Range Community App to access their history of shot data, as well as how they rank against other players on leaderboards.

“This latest attraction compliments the ongoing improvements and new facilities at Trafford Golf Centre, including Dino Falls Adventure Golf, extended catering facility and consistent supply of new Srixon golf balls and equipment. We look forward to seeing both existing and new customers enjoying the new technology.”

Work is currently underway on a new putting green and chipping practice area which is due to be completed by early December. There is also a new hot food menu including Chicago Town pizzas plus alcoholic beverages and Starbucks refreshments complete with waiter service now available in the Top Tracer bays, making Trafford Golf Centre the perfect destination for mates, dates and family get togethers.

Top Tracer will be charged at £5.00 per hour before 5pm Monday to Friday and £10.00 at all other times. This price excludes balls and club hire.

Trafford Golf Centre and Dino Falls Adventure Golf, located next to the M60, also offers a ‘We proudly serve Starbucks Café and Bar’, 53 bay golf range, nine PGA professionals teaching from the Academy and the largest American Golf retail store in the North.

Hit your driver effectively and consistently

The driver is generally the club that starts your hole off, so it can be viewed as the most important aspect of the game.
Everybody talks about “Drive for show, Putt for dough”
But you cant putt for dough if you miss fairways!!

Check out the video below to help correct and maintain your driver fundamentals.

Postural & Backswing improvement

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRO5ms0wcEc&feature=youtu.be

After 1 week of downswing practice, creating an in to out swing path, this player felt very low about his swing and thought he had majorly regressed, in fact he had made a huge improvement.
The ball told him he was hitting bad shots but his downswing told me he was ready to start hitting the ball further and with a nice high draw!!!
We made 2 slight adjustments to his posture and top of backswing position which instantly felt more comfortable and the results were superb.

“We have just launched our Junior Academy which is growing ever popular with over 60 children taking lessons per week. We have also introduced an adult teaching offer with five one hour sessions for just £25 each per person. BBC STAFF INSPIRED TO GIVE GOLF A GO

BBC staff have been channelling their energies into a new sporting pursuit.

Workers at the corporation’s MediaCityUK headquarters in Salford have been enjoying free golf taster sessions.

PGA professionals from Peel’s Trafford Golf Centre delivered the introduction to golf under the umbrella of the Lancashire County Golf Partnership.

Organised by Lizzie Dignam, who runs the BBC Salford Club, and Bev Dodds, development officer for the Lancashire CGP, the sessions offered staff something different that they can enjoy with their friends and family.

Nationally the Get into golf campaign and BBC Sport’s Get Inspired programme have teamed up to encourage people to get active and find new activities in their local area.

The sessions covered the basics of the game in a relaxed and enjoyable environment and golfing equipment was provided.

Says Peter Styles, director of golf at Trafford Golf Centre: “The taster sessions were delivered to golfing beginners, but they really enjoyed the experience and a number of them are now looking to carry on learning a sport that offers both social and health benefits to all ages and abilities.

“The feedback we had was really positive with comments such as:

After the taster sessions, follow-up coaching is available for the bargain price of just £25 for five lessons.  The scheme is open to individuals, groups or businesses and is aimed at beginners or those returning to the sport.

Adds Peter: “Our aim at Trafford Golf Centre is to create as many golfers as we can and for more people to enjoy the sport. We start new Get into golf taster sessions and coaching courses every two weeks at Trafford Golf Centre, so it is easy to find a time and date to suit you.”

The centre, which can be found in Old Park Lane, Trafford Quays next to the Trafford Centre and the Chill Factore ski slope, has links with a number of clubs in the Manchester area – including Flixton, Northenden, Sale and Davyhulme Park – which provides a pathway into potential golf club membership for those attending the 57-bay driving range, which has five qualified teaching professionals.

Get into golf is working alongside Get Inspired to extend its reach to millions of BBC viewers, listeners and web users across the country.

“We are delighted to work with Get Inspired. This will be a big boost to our campaign to encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to take up golf,” said Richard Flint, England Golf’s Participation & Club Support Director.

“With this increased awareness we are looking for more clubs to work with the Get into golf programme so that we can offer more opportunities across the country.”

Get into golf is a national campaign to inspire adults to take up the game and is run by the England Golf Partnership through its network of County Golf Partnerships, supported by Sport England and National Lottery funding.

Get into golf opportunities include FREE taster sessions and low-cost beginner courses with PGA professionals. They are a fun and sociable way to start golf – and a great way to make new friends.

Learn how to draw the ball!!!

This video shows the improvements which can be made during a 1 hour golf assessment lesson with Andy Carter.

A players swing plane is vital for the outcome of their shots.
The majority of golfers want to hit a draw shape, and that’s because the majority of golfers actually hit a slice.

The feedback from shots was a slice, heavy connection and even pull hooks.
This lesson completely re-vamped his swing plane and led to cleaner hits, better trajectory and a more consistent shape.
I am looking forward to working more with him and improving his game.

The 1st Lesson effect at Trafford Golf Centre

This is a video from a client’s 1st golf lesson at Trafford Golf Centre with Andy Carter.

Note the significant improvements made to his backswing which had a positive effect on his downswing and swing path into the golf ball. Due to the better rotation in the backswing more space was created enabling improvements to the swing path, angle of attack and contact with the ball. This in turn led to better and more consistent shots.

A second lesson will further improve and strengthen the swing aiding him in his future goals. As with every lesson more knowledge and experience will be gained about the golf swing so if bad shots do reoccur, he has an understanding of what caused them.

For more information or to check availability on golf lessons with Andy Carter please call 0161 749 7000.
