After 1 week of downswing practice, creating an in to out swing path, this player felt very low about his swing and thought he had majorly regressed, in fact he had made a huge improvement.
The ball told him he was hitting bad shots but his downswing told me he was ready to start hitting the ball further and with a nice high draw!!!
We made 2 slight adjustments to his posture and top of backswing position which instantly felt more comfortable and the results were superb.
Improving a players swing path will help ball striking and turn that pull or high slice into a little push or nice shaping draw!!
Watch and see 🙂
Meet Alex,
A 2 handicapper currently enrolled at Plymouth University studying a Golf Management degree.
We worked hard on the off season to help Alex improve his game, but having not seen him for 2-3 months due to University, the swing had slipped back into older habits due to playing a lot of unsupervised golf .
As you can see on the video we worked on his swing plane to improve his balls shape and trajectory. Most golfers will be able to relate to this swing in terms of its path, as he come across his backswing line causing pull shots with his irons and fade/slices with his longer clubs.
To help maintain Alex’s golf swing, he is under instruction to send weekly videos so I can help maintain his progression
This video shows the improvements which can be made during a 1 hour golf assessment lesson with Andy Carter.
A players swing plane is vital for the outcome of their shots.
The majority of golfers want to hit a draw shape, and that’s because the majority of golfers actually hit a slice.
The feedback from shots was a slice, heavy connection and even pull hooks.
This lesson completely re-vamped his swing plane and led to cleaner hits, better trajectory and a more consistent shape.
I am looking forward to working more with him and improving his game.
This is a video from a client’s 1st golf lesson at Trafford Golf Centre with Andy Carter.
Note the significant improvements made to his backswing which had a positive effect on his downswing and swing path into the golf ball. Due to the better rotation in the backswing more space was created enabling improvements to the swing path, angle of attack and contact with the ball. This in turn led to better and more consistent shots.
A second lesson will further improve and strengthen the swing aiding him in his future goals. As with every lesson more knowledge and experience will be gained about the golf swing so if bad shots do reoccur, he has an understanding of what caused them.
